I'VE NEVER HEARD OF RESURFACING. IS IT NEW?No. Resurfacing has been done for decades. As in many industries, the technology is constantly evolving. We pride ourselves on our ability to stay at the forefront of industry advancements. Our bathtub coating, specifically designed and formulated for tubs, is an excellent "immersion" coating.
IS IT GUARANTEED?
Yes! Simply Resurface warranties all products and labor for a full five years for residential services. You should expect many more years than this with good surface care and maintenance.
MY BATHTUB LOOKS DIRTY AND DULL. WILL THIS HELP?
Absolutely. Your bathtub won't come clean because over time the surface glaze has worn away and exposed the pores of the porcelain. Fiberglass has a gel-coat, which also wears away. The more you scrub, the more the protective coating is worn off. When resurfaced, the coating fills these pores. Dirt can't penetrate the new surface and it's easily cleaned with nonabrasive cleansers.
WHAT ABOUT NICKS, SCRATCHES, HOLES, BURNS, AND OTHER DAMAGE?
Our clients are frequently amazed at what damage can be fixed and restored. Most damage can be beautifully repaired.
I'VE HEARD I CAN'T USE A BATHMAT. IS THIS TRUE?
No. Bathmats can cause damage to ANY bathtub surface, whether new or refinished. When left in place for extended periods of time, mats can discolor and seriously damage the finish. Mold and mildew also contribute to a damaged and unsanitary bathtub. Our technicians have bathmats that can be permanently installed to solve these problems, or can recommend retail products for your use.
CAN I CHANGE COLOR?
Yes! One of the great things about this process is that the choice of color (or colors) is yours! We have standard neutral tones, but any color can be custom-mixed. Countertops and vanities can be beautifully refinished in a solid color or a multi-speck with unlimited combinations of colors to choose from.
DOES IT SMELL?
There is an odor associated with the process. This is greatly minimized by our use of an industrial vent system that discharges to the outdoors. We also seal off the service area from the remainder of your home. As with all odors, some folks are more sensitive than others. We don't utilize fragrances to mask the odor (these additives can compromise the integrity of the coating).
HOW MUCH TIME DOES IT TAKE?
Most jobs can be finished in less than one day ensuring your "construction disruption" is just days rather than weeks or even months required by many construction projects. We return after 24 hours to re-caulk the area and replace the drain (if applicable). New tub surfaces must cure for 72 hours before use and countertops need 24 hours to cure. We never compromise the coatings by adding quick-dry additives.
